Lotus team principal Eric Boullier is expecting a deal with new investors Quantum Motorsport to come to fruition next week and says his team has proof of the funds that have been promised.

Lotus first announced the deal in June, but has not yet received the money it needs to properly plan for 2014. The delay has led to speculation that the deal may not happen, especially after Quantum Motorsport chairman Mansoor Ijaz said in Austin that the deal would be done this week. In Brazil Boullier insisted it was now close.

"There is still some discussion ongoing, especially now between bankers," he said. "The process is not fully completed but I think part of it has been done, which is obviously a good sign for the weekend and we hope that everything is closed by early next week."

Asked if he had proof of the existence of Quantum's money, Boullier said: "Yes, we have very serious proof of funds and good compliance of what is Quantum Motorsport."
