Palmer to test for Lotus in Barcelona
GP2 champion Jolyon Plamer will make his test debut with Lotus this week as he takes part in the team's test schedule in Barcelona.
Race driver Pastor Maldonado will drive on the opening day on Thursday before handing the car over to Palmer on Friday. Maldonado will have a second day at the wheel on Saturday with Romain Grosjean driving just one day on Sunday.
Palmer first drove an F1 car last year at the end-of-season Abu Dhabi test where he completed 205km in last year's Force India. Over the winter he signed as a Lotus test driver and will also take part in FP1 sessions this year as well as tests.
The addition of Palmer means Grosjean misses out on another day at the wheel of the new E23 and by the end of next week will have two days in the car so far to Maldonado's four.
