No rookie excuse in 2013 for Grosjean

Romain Grosjean admits he will have to iron out a lot of errors in 2013 as he won't have the excuse of being a rookie to fall back on.

Although Grosjean took part in eight grands prix in the second half of 2008, last year was his first full season in Formula One. Having delivered some impressive performances, Grosjean's year was overshadowed by a number of incidents which eventually led to a one-race ban. Having signed for Lotus again for 2013, Grosjean admitted he won't be able to attribute such errors to a lack of experience next season.

"It has been a very interesting first season, with some great moments, and some tough ones," Grosjean said. "On the whole, if people had told me I was going to have three podiums and end up eighth in the overall ranking, I'd have taken that. For my second season, I won't be a rookie anymore and I want to learn from my mistakes and also continue what I've been doing right."

Grosjean also declined to target a first victory next season as he looks to take a more measured approach to 2013.

"My goal will be to be satisfied with myself as often as I can, to have the best races possible for me and for the team. And to use everything that I have learnt during this first season. I won't set myself any goals in terms of results because I would be making the same mistakes as this season. I just want to have the best races that I can and we will see where that leads us."
