Clock ticking on Marussia comeback

Former Marussia boss Graeme Lowdon admits the team's hopes of returning to the grid in 2015 will be gone completely if a second auction of its assets goes ahead this week.
Marussia went into administration last October and missed the last three races before being liquidated. A team under the name of 'Manor F1' remains on the provisional entry list for 2015 but a return seemed unlikely in December when Marussia auctioned off assets.
An auction of key equipment is set for Wednesday and Lowdon has no doubts what it would mean for Marussia if it went ahead.
"There have been some auctions already but none of the equipment that has been sold so far is essential for the team to go forward," Lowdon told Sky Sports News. "But if that equipment went it would be difficult."
It is rumoured Gene Haas has purchased the team's Banbury base ahead of Haas F1's arrival on the grid next season, but Lowdon remains convinced a deal can be done in the next two days to save Marussia ahead of the first pre-season test in Jerez on February 1.
"It's certainly possible for the team to get there. It would be good news for F1 and for our fans certainly."
