McLaren has confirmed Jenson Button will kick off its testing schedule in Barcelona on February 19 as it looks to bounce back from a frustrating start to pre-season.

McLaren is starting its new partnership with Honda this year but only completed 79 laps as it struggled with numerous issues over the four days in Jerez earlier this month. The MP4-30 was nearly seven seconds off the pace of Ferrari on the final day but, as the team was focused mainly on aero tests, it remains confident it can be quick once the engine is turned up fully in Barcelona.

Unlike Jerez, when the McLaren drivers alternated days, Button will also drive for the second day before Alonso takes over for the final two days.
