Lewis Hamilton has moved quickly to prevent a new war of words developing between himself and arch-rival Fernando Alonso.
In the wake of a controversial European Grand Prix, Alonso suggested 'even a child' knows the safety car cannot be overtaken, prompting Hamilton to accuse the Spaniard of 'sour grapes'.
But at a paintballing media session with his McLaren team-mate Jenson Button, Hamilton insisted he is not concerned about Alonso's claim that stewards manipulated his European GP result.
"We messaged the other day and things are cool," said Hamilton. "I messaged him to see how he was doing. He said everything's cool, that he knows how the racing world works and this is a tough year.
"It doesn't worry me. I'll just keep focused on my job. We're all feeling the pressure."
Hamilton is also working on rebuilding his relationship with his father after inviting him to attend the British Grand Prix.
"I have invited him. I've invited all my family. I think he's going on Saturday night. I have got grandstand tickets so I said you can choose whether you want to be in the paddock or you can go in the grandstand.
"He should go into the paddock, but then he should go and experience something different because he has always watched it either from TV or in the paddock."
