Toto Wolff says the way that Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg work together is "brilliant" for Mercedes.
The team has edged clear of Ferrari in recent races but remains involved in a tight battle for second place in the constructors' championship as it currently holds a 15-point lead. Speaking during an exclusive interview with ESPN, Wolff said he felt Hamilton and Rosberg are showing themselves to be the best driver pairing on the grid.
"What you can see now is that the guys are pushing each other," Wolff said. "They compete from the beginning of the weekend and it's brilliant for the team. They treat each other in a fair way; they respect each other's opinions and ideas.
"They are sharing things with each other - OK everyone has their own little tricks - but still they are doing it in the right way for the team. They are intelligent to understand, for example now it's about the team. It's not about maximising their own performances and that is an exceptionally nice environment to work in."
Wolff also admitted Mercedes has focused more on this season than it planned to originally due to the constructors' battle.
"We have diluted our efforts in to 2014 a little bit because we saw that we are competitive [this year]. We could even finish second and vice-champion in the constructors' championship is a major achievement. But we still have to try to keep the momentum for 2014."
