Red Bull not in trouble yet - Hamilton
Despite his team enjoying vastly contrasting fortunes to Red Bull, Lewis Hamilton believes it would be foolish to read anything into the world champions' struggles over the opening three days of testing.
Hamilton and team-mate Rosberg have accumulated 177 laps over three days in Jerez, compared to 14 for Red Bull. While Mercedes has failed to finish any day top of the time sheets, the length of their stints had been impressive - with Hamilton's opening day crash the only real blemish.
Despite this Hamilton is not letting himself get carried away, and believes Red Bull still has plenty of time to get to grips with the RB10.
"The strength in our team is that we have been working really hard, to be the first team out on track," Hamilton said. "To have done the most laps so far is a good step so far, but there are so many challenges ahead of us we will just have to keep taking it one step at a time.
"Nico got 97 laps in [on Tuesday] which was great, it's really impressive to see the team be the first ones out. Watching all the other teams who haven't been out, Red Bull for example, who have struggled to get out so it shows you how tough it is on all the other teams. That shows how well we are doing at this point.
"But this is a seriously early stage. Everything is different. It's going to be a challenging year for every team, reliability is going to be a huge issue. You would expect some teams to be struggling now but it will be an entirely different picture [in Melbourne]. It's too early to tell anything right now, only how we are doing."
