F1 can still improve - Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton believes Formula One still has some issues to address this year despite putting on a thriller of a race two weeks ago in Bahrain.
A race-long battle between Hamilton and Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg was the highlight of the Bahrain Grand Prix and helped address some of the criticisms over the new regulations. But Hamilton warned against getting carried away with one good race.
"That's the thing, in this sport and in sport in general you have one good day and it changes the opinion and the view of the whole situation," he said. "It does show that there are some good things about it but there are still some things to improve."
Hamilton watched a recording of the race before heading to Shanghai for the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend and admitted it had made good viewing.
"It was quite an exciting race. I got to spend some time at home with my family at the weekend and we watched the highlights and it was quite interesting to see the duels between each of the team-mates. It was a bit more like a go-kart race, but whether it will always be like that [I don't know]. That was a great race and I hope there are more races like that throughout the year.
"You don't see it too often. Obviously in karting you don't have downforce, you just have mechanical grip, so you can follow and have wheel-to-wheel racing so it is more exciting in general. But to have the staggered tyres and differences between cars that you had at that last race was quite unique.
"Every person I've met, be it at the airport, supermarket or wherever, they are just ecstatic and excited about the last race. They are still buzzing so that's cool and I'm sure it's won some fans and got people more interested in watching. I think it's done the world of good for the sport."
