Spain a chance to extend Mercedes' advantage - Rosberg
Nico Rosberg is confident Mercedes can extend its gap over the rest of the field at the Spanish Grand Prix in three weeks' time.
Mercedes started the season with a significant advantage over its competitors and has won every race this season by more than 20 seconds. Teams traditionally bring a big upgrade to the Spanish Grand Prix for the start of the European season, but rather than the chasing pack closing on Mercedes, Rosberg thinks his team will extend its advantage.
"We want to go to Barcelona with the biggest step, that's our ambition," he said, "Barcelona is a chance for us to extend the advantage that we have and that's the approach that we have going to Barcelona, 100%."
Rosberg finished second at last weekend's Chinese Grand Prix after difficulties in qualifying saw him start from fourth on the grid. He is determined to get back to winning ways and beat team-mate Hamilton at the next race.
"To finish second in the end, on a weekend of damage limitation, is great. I collected some important points again, which makes me happy. It's great to go back to Europe with the lead in the Championship. In Barcelona, the aim will be to have a normal weekend and be back in first place."
