- Jerez Test Day Two
Mercedes must keep pushing - Schumacher
Michael Schumacher has encouraged Mercedes to keep pushing after he set the fastest time of the Jerez test on Friday.
At the start of a ten lap run, Schumacher clocked a 1:20.352 on super-soft tyres to go to the top of the pile. In total he notched up an impressive 112 laps at the wheel of the W02 and later declared the day a success.
""It clearly was a productive day, and obviously I am happy about that," Schumacher said. "We were focusing on long runs and being able to produce such a lot of mileage is positive in terms of reliability.
"It also gives us good data for the test days to come and for the developments we are working on. We are moving forward as we should during the testing period but at the same time, we are aware we have to keep pushing."
The Mercedes will receive a major update for the Bahrain test in two weeks time.
