Michael Schumacher has hinted at an extension to his Formula One career beyond the end of the current season.

Currently enjoying the most competitive season since his comeback to the sport, the topic of whether Schumacher would continue has been the subject of much speculation this year. Speaking to Sport Bild Schumacher said that he still had more to prove before he was ready to retire once again.

"I am not yet satisfied," Schumacher said. "For I have achieved too little in the second part [of my career].

"I'm still highly motivated. For how long, only time will tell."

Schumacher added that he did expect negotiations about his future to start soon, with Ross Brawn hoping Schumacher will make a decision before the Belgian Grand Prix at the start of September.

"There have still been no talks between myself and Mercedes about an extension, but these talks will take place. We will discuss a time for them."
