Billy Joe Saunders faces a race against time to be fit for his title bout at Wembley in February. The 20-year-old fighter has not been able to punch with his left hand since suffering an injury against Lee Noble in December.

Saunders is due to fight Sam Sexton for the British and Commonwealth Middleweight title and despite the scare, expects to be able to fulfil the bout. "I'm not allowed to punch with [my left hand] still," he said. "Hopefully I'll get the go ahead from the doctor, which I should do."

He has claimed five wins from as many fights in his first 12 months as a professional and Saunders insists he is delighted with life under promoter Frank Warren.

"I have no regrets at all about going professional," he said. "I'm happy with Frank Warren, I'm with one of the best promoters in the world, I've got the best team around me in Mark Tibbs and Jimmy Tibbs and I wouldn't turn the clock back for anything."

Saunders, who competed in the Beijing Olympics, signed with Frank Warren Promotions in December 2008, along with other promising British fighters James DeGale and Frankie Gavin.
