Semenya left out of South African team

World 800 metre champion Caster Semenya has been left out of the South African team for the African championships later this month.
The controversial athlete has not raced competitively since undergoing a gender test following her win in Berlin last summer, but she was given the all-clear to race with women last week by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF).
She was expected to be involved in the games in Nairobi, but her coach Michael Seme revealed she would instead make her debut away from the limelight at a meet in Finland on Thursday before turning her focus to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October.
"She is looking at the Commonwealth Games in India in October. We have agreed with ASA [Athletics South Africa] that Caster will not go to Kenya," Seme told The Sowetan newspaper. "We are trying to organise a series of meets for Caster."
