All Black Israel Dagg will wear the red and black of the Crusaders in next season's Super 15 after he completed his switch from the Highlanders.

The rising star has penned a two-year deal with the Canterbury club, ending months of speculation over a proposed move.

The transfer is a significant one for both clubs, with the 22-year old fullback considered among the hottest properties in the New Zealand game having made his international debut against Ireland in June.

Crusaders coach Todd Blackadder was pleased with the signing, saying: "We are very happy to have secured Israel for next season's Super Rugby competition and beyond. He is a special talent and we're sure he will fit in at the Crusaders very well."

Dagg joins fellow Hawke's Bay product Zac Guildford in agreeing a move to the Crusaders, with Guildford having followed up his debut Test starts last November with a season in Christchurch. Blackadder will also be keeping a keen eye on the progress of former league star Sonny Bill Williams, who will be available to him in 2011 after signing with Canterbury.
