British Olympic Association chairman Colin Moynihan is "cautiously optimistic" that drug cheats such as Dwain Chambers and David Millar will not compete for Team GB at London 2012.

The BOA's lifetime exclusion for those found guilty of taking banned substances came under the microscope at the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Monday, with a verdict expected in a month. The World Anti-Doping Agency says the ruling breaches its code, and it could be overturned.

Speaking after the court's hearing, Moynihan said: "It was a good day, all the arguments were put really strongly. The voice of the athletes was definitely heard and we now wait and see.

"One of the questions we put is to try and get a resolution as soon as possible. My expectation is a month, we don't want it any longer as it is in the interests of the athletes that they know what the outcome will be.

"Today was an outstandingly good presentation, [QC] Lord Pannick was first rate and the voice of the athletes came over strong and loud so I'm cautiously optimistic."
