Brownlee has proved to be in a league of his own in the multi-discipline event and romped to gold in Hyde Park.

The Yorkshireman's time for the 10,000m run round Hyde Park was 97 seconds slower than Farah, but it came on winding, undulating terrain following a 1500m swim and 43km bike ride.

Bronwlee is unsure how close he would get to Farah but is open to the prospect of giving it a shot - possibly at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

"I've never timed myself doing a 10k on the track," he said. "I'd love to do one.

"There's a Commonwealth Games in two years' time so I might look into seeing if I could qualify for the 10k as well as doing the triathlon.

"That would be a dream. I think last time the qualifying time for the Commonwealths was 28.50 minutes on the track and I ran 29 minutes so I could do it.

"It would be nice to have a bit of a different challenge just to mix it about a bit."
