Tonga have claimed a decisive victory over Georgia at Mikheil Mekshi Stadium in Tblisi, Ikale Tahi scoring three tries as they overwhelmed the Lelos in the second half.

The teams produced an ill-tempered if evenly matched first half, with the hosts going to the break leading 9-6 through Merab Kvirikashvili's three penalty goals to Kurt Morath's two, but the visitors were much the better team in the second stanza after the early introduction of Siua Halanukonuka and Paea Fa'anunu.

Tonga produced consistent phases and driving offence to put Georgia on the back foot in the second stanza, and Taniela Moa sliced through the short side midway through the period after a dominant scrum to score the first of his two tries.

Georgia fought back, but they were unable to capitalise on their pressure deep in opposition territory and Vungakoto Lilo, again on the short side, scored the visitors' third try late in the piece.
