Gloucester wing James Simpson-Daniel has been cleared of serious injury after picking up an ankle problem in his side's hard-fought victory over Wasps on Sunday.

Simpson-Daniel's try helped the Cherry and Whites to a 10-9 win over their Aviva Premiership play-off rivals at Adams Park, lifting them into fourth spot with two games in hand on the majority of their competitors.

The former England international was carried from the field after suffering the injury but expects to only miss two to three weeks of action following an x-ray.

"I had an x-ray which was all clear but there was a little damage on the scan," he said. "I think I might be looking at about 2-3 weeks out but we will take it a few days at a time and see how we go."
