Leicester Tigers could be without Craig Newby for Saturday's Guinness Premiership showdown against Saracens after the New Zealander was cited for a dangerous tackle on Bath's Butch James in the semi-finals.

Newby, who came on as a replacement in the 65th minute of the game at Welford Road, avoided punishment for the alleged 'spear tackle' by the match referee but has now been summoned to appear before an RFU disciplinary panel on Tuesday.

Should the former All Black back-row be found guilty of foul play, he is almost certain to be landed with a suspension which would rule him out of this weekend's Guinness Premiership decider with Sarries.
