Mark Webber has called on Red Bull to be more consistent and insists there are a number of areas for it to improve over the coming races.

Red Bull has had the fastest package in qualifying this year but has struggled in the races, with Webber taking just 28 points from the first four races and lying eighth in the championship. Webber said the car was quick enough but that didn't mean Red Bull was being complacent.

"We're optimistic at all venues now," he said. "The car's been quick everywhere, we've just got to have some clean Sunday afternoons. We're not where we want to be, so we've just got to improve. The people that have got the results this year have got them because they deserve them i.e. Jenson Button. So we've got to do a better job.

"It can take one weekend [to change], we know with the points system the situation can fluctuate very fast. The middle part of the championship for me last year was very, very good. I'm looking to do it again this year.

"Consistency is the big thing, we could write a dossier on where we need to improve, but so can Ferrari, McLaren or any team. I don't think anybody has gone to the four flyaway races and left no change on the table, every team has. We have yes, and we'll go about addressing that as quickly as we can."

Red Bull is expected to bring an F-duct to its car in time for the next grand prix in Spain. The rear wing-stalling device has been pioneered by McLaren with considerable success at the opening rounds, increasing the car's top speed and its drivers' chances of overtaking. Webber said the technology had livened up the opening races.

"The F-duct has been good for the racing and we've seen some overtaking," said Webber. "Whether it's mega skilful I'm not sure, as with KERS when you just pressed a button for a higher top speed. At the end of the day it's overtaking and I think it's good for the sport that people can overtake because we don't have much of it nowadays."
