Sebastian Vettel says one benefit of his winless campaign so far is the lessons he has learnt from being beaten, though he is not giving up on his first victory of 2014 just yet.

Vettel has struggled with Red Bull this season, a situation magnified by Daniel Ricciardo's three wins in his first year at the team. Vettel, with four world titles and 39 wins since 2008, is a man accustomed to victory but he believes his current predicament will help his resolve in the future.

"Well I would prefer to win, we still have some races to go and I'm here to win," Vettel said when asked if he'd given up on victory in 2014. "I don't like being beaten but this year I've been beaten many times, but that's part of sport, part of life.

"There's always something you can learn from winning, but you can always learn something from being beaten or losing. In that regard we've learned already a lot, it's been a tough year already but the confidence is high and there's confidence we will win again."

Vettel's name continues to dominate rumours, with the most recent speculation linking him to Ferrari. In Belgium, Vettel was fielding questions about a possible move to McLaren but he is adamant the situation has not changed.

"I'm not thinking any differently to the last couple of weeks when you asked the same kind of question. It was different people, but the same kind of question. I have a lot of stuff to do here [at Red Bull] and especially this year, as it hasn't been the smoothest year for myself, so there's work to do to make sure we come back.

"I have a contract, nothing has changed. For sure the relationship I have is very special, they have been supporting me since I was 12 years old and I've been wearing the Red Bull helmet for a long time, since then basically. Back then it's impossible to predict what's going to happen and know they will have their own - or two - Red Bull teams and know you will be driving for one of them - or both of them - at some stage. It's impossible to predict the future but surely I've been with Red Bull for a long time and have a strong ling to them, so nothing has changed in that regard and doesn't look like it's changing."
