Sebastian Vettel has named his new chassis Randy Mandy after his previous one, Luscious Liz, had to be replaced due to damage sustained over the last two races.

One of Vettel's superstitions is to christen each of his cars with a girl's name in ascending alphabetical order. When asked by reporters in the Istanbul paddock what his new chassis would be called, he replied with a smile: ""Randy Mandy".

He said it was difficult to know how much time his damaged car had cost him over the past two races but revealed it was a relief to know he was not to blame.

"It's difficult to say [how much difference it made]," Vettel said. "I think it explains a lot and, on top of that we found, also other things that weren't in proper shape anymore. It doesn't mean that we come here and everything is solved, we still have to work hard and try our best to be at the front again."

He added that he is confident going into this weekend's race but wasn't ruling out the challenge from Red Bull's competitors.

"If you look at the gaps, it's not that we are massively clear," Vettel said. "It's three points to Fernando [Alonso] in the drivers so you never know what happens. In terms of performance we are looking strong, so that's a good thing. So we should be in good shape for this weekend but I am not really a big fan of using words like unbeatable. Things change too quickly in Formula One."
