Sebastian Vettel visited Red Bull's Milton Keynes factory to bid farewell to the team on Tuesday but will not get one of his championship-winning cars until he has left Ferrari.

Vettel is the most successful product of Red Bull's young driver programme, which he joined in 1998, with four world titles and 38 victories in six years at the team. His maiden win came with Red Bull's junior team, Toro Rosso, at the 2008 Italian Grand Prix.

Team boss Christian Horner and technical guru Adrian Newey gave Vettel gifts including a half-scale model bull and some tight red Speedos, though he will have to wait until he gets one of his championship-winning Red Bulls.

"We don't want it turning up in [Ferrari headquarters] Maranello," joked Horner.

Vettel completed his first test for Ferrari at the weekend but thanked Red Bull for everything it had done for him in the last six years.

"Big, big thank you to everyone," Vettel said. "In the end we had the better car because we were the better team. Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. The last six years have been incredible.

"What we've achieved, the work that's gone in: so much passion, so much dedication. It will always stay in my heart. There's a lot of happy memories from this place that I'm holding onto. It's been a great journey and I've very grateful for what all of you did for me."
