Mark Webber says he has patched up his strained relationship with team-mate Sebastian Vettel.

Webber admitted what was widely known, namely that for much of the 2010 season he was not on good terms with world champion Vettel. But he said the pair had worked through their differences and will go into next year with a new understanding.

"Our relationship is good now,'' he said. "At the end of the year it was good to have a chat about things now and push a few things away that happened. It is hard to talk closely to each other during the season in the heat of the battle and over the winter we will have more time to build for the season and do a better job without any friction."

Much of Webber's frustration came because of what he believed was preferential treatment given to Vettel by Red Bull, a charge repeatedly denied by the team.

He explained the fact that Red Bull had team-mates competing for the drivers' title added to the pressure. "People have to understand it only happens once every 10-15 years where you have two drivers in one team going for a championship."
