Red Bull has confirmed that Jean-Eric Vergne will drive its 2011 car at the Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi later this month.

Vergne is set to complete Friday morning tests with Toro Rosso at the next two grands prix and drove for STR at last year's Young Driver Test. He recently finished as runner-up in Formula Renault 3.5 and has been tipped as a potential Toro Rosso and Red Bull race driver of the future.

"I'm really looking forward to driving the RB7 in Abu Dhabi," he said. "I know the track already and have had some track time in a Formula One car this year, which will help.

"I'm extremely happy that Red Bull Racing has given me this opportunity, it will be a massive experience for me and to be driving the best Formula One car is something quite amazing. I will make the best out of the three days, it will be an important three days and I'm looking forward to it."

The Young Driver Test will take place the week after this year's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from November 15 to 17 and is designed to give drivers with less than three grands prix of experience a chance to drive a contemporary F1 car. Also confirmed to take part in the test so far are Jules Bianchi for Ferrari, Sam Bird for Mercedes, Mirko Bortolotti for Williams having won the F2 championship, Fabio Leimer for Sauber and Adrian Quaife-Hobbs for Virgin.
