Red Bull will launch the RB8 online on February 6, the day before the start of the first test at Jerez.

The team has announced that it will be releasing images of the car on its website at 13:00 GMT. The car will then be on the track the following day as the first pre-season test gets underway. So far McLaren, Ferrari, Force India and Sauber have also confirmed launch dates for their 2012 cars prior to the first test.

In 2011 the RB7 also had a low-key launch as it was unveiled in the pit lane at Valencia, on the morning of the opening day of the first test.

Mercedes is the only team to announce that it will delay the launch of its new car until after the first test in order to maximise development time. With a two-week gap between tests the team will first run the new W03 at the second test in Barcelona.
