Eric Boullier has denied reports he has taken the team principal role at Renault, claiming discussions with new owners Genii Capital are ongoing.

Boullier currently works for Gravity driver management, which is owned by Genii Capital, and has also worked as a managing director at GP2 team DAMS. BBC Sport claims he will be Renault's team principal in 2010 having visited its Enstone factory on Tuesday and met with staff. However, when asked by ESPNF1, Boullier denied the story.

"There's, unfortunately, nothing I can confirm at the moment," he said. "Talks are ongoing, that's for sure, but we're still far from what has been said this afternoon."

Bob Bell took over the team principal last year job when Flavio Briatore was banned for his part in the race-fixing scandal. Gerhard Berger has also been linked to the job, but flatly denied the rumour in the German press.
