Edwards plays down Henson move talk

London Wasps coach Shaun Edwards has cooled talk about the Aviva Premiership club making a move for Ospreys centre Gavin Henson.
Henson has not played a competitive game since March 2009, but has made encouraging noises about a comeback and has been linked with a move away from Ospreys. Wasps were one of the sides touted as possible suitors for the Wales star, but this has been played down by Edwards.
Edwards has insisted there has been no move for Henson and claimed the club are not in a position to contemplate lodging a bid.
"Our owner gives us £4 million for a salary cap and we are grateful to him for that," Edwards told Sky Sports News. "We are not in a position to pay transfer fees for players. We are not in a position to sign a player who is contracted to another club, simple as that."
When asked if Henson would cross his radar when his contracts winds down next year, Edwards said: "I have no idea, I have not thought that far ahead."
Henson has been on unpaid leave from Ospreys for more than a year and has recently signed up to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.
He is contracted to Opsreys for a further year, but there is still talk that a transfer to England could be finalised if a compensation package with the region can be agreed.
