Adrian Sutil insists he has no regrets regarding his move from Force India to Sauber despite the contrasting fortunes between his former and current teams so far this season.

Sutil spent five seasons at Force India after joining in 2008, but his move to Sauber has failed to bear fruit after struggling with driveability issues, an overweight car and poor reliability. The highest Sutil has managed this season was 11th in Australia, which has proven to be something of an anomaly for Sauber, while Force India claimed a podium in Bahrain and sits fourth in the constructors' championship.

Sutil says he is not dwelling on what might have been and thinks he can take credit for some of Force India's impressive form in 2014 so far.

"Well I took my decision, I said 'I've had wonderful years with Force India and I needed a change' and I went to Sauber," Sutil said. "This chapter is done for me and I'm happy to see them being successful. I did a lot of work, maybe this is what they have right now. I'm not thinking back 'what a shame I'm not there', no. It's ok, they have a good result there and I'm happy for them. Life goes on in a new team with a new challenge."

Having worked at Force India for so long, Sutil thinks the team's current pace should be proof to Sauber that it can turn around the current situation it finds itself in.

"I have no regrets but of course I am motivated to get out of this situation we are in right now and make the same with this team with what Force India are doing right now. In Montreal we had a smooth weekend which was important; we had some difficulties in the first ones where little things always went wrong. The current situation is not easy which is why it's important to not make mistakes and maximise what we have."

Sutil is staying optimistic about Sauber's chances in Austria after a poor showing in Montreal.

"The expectations are more or less similar to the precious races; we have no updates here but hopefully the circuit suits us better. Montreal was quite difficult, we had a big lack of top speed performance there but hopefully it will be better."
