  • Wasps director Lawrence Dallaglio has offered a lifeline to banned England prop Matt Stevens, insisting that Wasps will be happy to have him on board once he has completed his two-year suspension for taking cocaine.

Dallaglio also slammed Stevens' former club, Bath, saying at the Prince Obolensky lecture that he was "hung out to dry" by the West Country side.

"We will be happy to offer Matt a job when he completes his ban and Wasps have a reputation for taking in waifs and strays," Dallaglio told the London Evening Standard."We are an inclusive club and the game has a moral obligation to look after Matt, who was banned for using a recreational drug not a performance-enhancing one. Matt was hung out to dry when this all broke and Bath should have looked after him."

  • Leicester fly-half Toby Flood is hoping to make his long-awaited comeback from injury in Leicester's Anglo-Welsh Cup meeting with Newport-Gwent Dragons at the weekend. Flood picked up a lower-leg injury in Leicester's Heineken Cup semi-final win over Cardiff Blues in May.
