Dimitri Szarzewski has been ruled out of France's opening international Test against Fiji next weekend due to an ankle injury.

The Stade Francais hooker, who has won 48 caps for his country, is suffering from an Achilles tendon , which was diagnosed during France's first training session outside Paris on Friday. His involvement in France's November internationals was already in doubt after he was cited for an alleged headbutt during Stade's Top 14 match with Toulon.

Szarzewski will not be replaced in the squad with Toulouse's William Servat and Guilhem Guirado of Perpignan left to contest the hooker position. After the Fiji game on November 13, France face Argentina in Montpellier and Australia at Stade de France in Paris on successive weekends.
