Crusaders captain Richie McCaw has welcomed the prospect of playing a future Super Rugby fixture at Twickenham.

The franchise contacted the RFU regarding the possibility of using England's national stadium after their AMI Stadium was damaged in the recent Christchurch earthquake. The RFU ruled out the possibility of hosting the Crusaders' Super Rugby match against the Sharks on March 26 due to logistical issues with neighbours Harlequins playing Gloucester in the Aviva Premiership on the same day.

But they did suggest a number of possible future dates, and McCaw, who is currently recovering from a stress fracture in his foot, believes his side would gain a huge amount from playing at Twickenham.

"If that happened you just get on and do it," McCaw said of the suggestion. "You look at it in the positive and enjoy it. It could all be good. If we did go there are a lot of guys who haven't played there before and it's a pretty cool place to play. You just get on with it rather than worry about it."
