The International Rugby Board (IRB) has announced the revised schedule for this year's Pacific Nations Cup.

The tournament, contested by Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and Japan, will be hosted by Fiji after the decision was taken to move it from Japan in the wake of the devastating earthquake and Tsunami that struck the country in March.

The opening round of matches will see the hosts take on Tonga at Churchill Park in Lautoka on July 2, while Japan face reigning champions Samoa at the Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium in Tokyo - the only game to be staged in Japan.

"The tournament has become of vital importance to both the Oceania and Asia region and offers a wonderful opportunity to develop players, match officials and structures for all the Unions involved," IRB Regional General Manager for Oceania William Glenwright said . "It was hugely encouraging to see the much-improved performance of these nations during the November 2010 Test window."
