Gloucester and Quins set for World Club 7s clash

The quarter-finals for the inaugural World Club 7s have been decided following the opening day of action at Twickenham.

Premiership sides Gloucester and Harlequins will play each other, Buenos Aires will tackle New York, the Brumbies will take on VVA Saracens Moscow Region and Auckland will go head-to-head with San Francisco.

Auckland, Buenos Aires and the Cherry-and-Whites topped their pools after each recorded two wins while the Brumbies, VVA Saracens Moscow Region and San Francisco progressed as runners up. New York City and Quins booked their places in the knock-out stages as the best third-place finishers.

The remaining teams, Northampton Saints, Blue Bulls, Kuban Krasnador and Western Province will battle it out for the plate and shield competitions.
