Judd Trump claimed his first ranking title with a thrilling victory over Mark Selby in the final of the China Open.

The 21-year-old showed impressive grit to hold off a determined comeback from Selby to clinch a 10-8 win in Beijing.

Trump, who conceded just seven frames en route to the final, burst out of the blocks as he stunned the world No. 4 with two breaks of 104 to move 3-1 up.

An error saw him miss the chance to take a 6-2 lead into the interval, but he was nonetheless in control when he returned to the table leading 5-3 at the start of the evening session.

However, the two-time Masters champion Selby dug deep to fight back from 6-3 down to claw his way back into the match with a clearance of 124 before edging a scrappy frame to draw level at 8-8.

Selby looked set to force the match to a deciding frame, but a missed brown proved to be his last shot of the tournament as Trump held his nerve to sink the pink and claim the winner's cheque.
