Sebastian Vettel will miss FP2 after sustaining an electrical problem during the first practice session of the Spanish GP.

Vettel completed just four laps on Friday morning before pulling up at the side of the road at Turn 6 after the issue damaged a wiring loom in his car. After helping the mechanics wheel his RB10 off the circuit, Vettel then took a fire extinguisher to the rear of the car before it was lifted onto the back of a truck.

After being asked to move over for Daniel Ricciardo in two consecutive races, Vettel was hoping to bounce back in Spain - with a chassis change made in the hope of "resetting" his fortunes. But after FP1 Red Bull confirmed Vettel will be forced to sit out Friday's session, a blow not only to the world champion but also the team, as it attempts to close the gap on Mercedes out in front.
