Fijian coup puts Epson Cup match in doubt
May 22, 2000

The political instability in Fiji following the coup attempt has put next weekend's match between Fiji and Tonga in doubt.

The National Stadium in Suva, where the fixture is due to take place, is only 2 kilometres away from the Parliament Buildings where hostages are being held by armed gunmen.

One option is to move the match out of Suva to another part of the island, or the IRB may simply decide to call the match off.
