Rasolea re-signs with Western Force
August 6, 2014
Western Force utility back Solomoni Rasolea has re-signed for a further two Super Rugby seasons - but only after receiving a promise from his parents. Rasolea has played 21 games for the Force over two seasons, and the 23-year-old was keen to stay in Perth despite his strong family ties in Brisbane.
"I'm very close to my family in Brisbane, but mum and dad both encouraged me to stay somewhere where I'm really enjoying my rugby," Rasolea said. "And they've promised to keep visiting.
"I love being part of this team. We've got a great bunch of boys here and we know that as long as were maintaining our standards and keep chipping away, we'll be a in a good position to go further in this competition."
Rasolea missed seven games this season due to a broken wrist. But with star winger Nick Cummins departing for Japan, the former Fiji under-20 representative looms as a key player for the Force next season.
"I feel like I'm really starting to find my feet as part of the team at Super Rugby level," Rasolea said. "It doesn't matter whether I've played on the wing, outside [centre] or inside [centre], I've definitely grown in knowledge and understanding the game."
The Force have also re-signed Nathan Charles, Dane Haylett-Petty, Rory Walton and Chris Alcock over the past fortnight.
