Janko Tipsarevic kept his faint hopes of qualifying for the ATP World Tour Finals alive with his second title in a month at the Kremlin Cup in Russia.

Having finally secured his first ATP Tour title after nine years as a professional in Kuala Lumpur last month, Tipsarevic claimed his second with a 6-4 6-2 victory over compatriot Viktor Troicki in Moscow.

Despite firing nine aces, defending champion Troicki faced 12 break points and won only 52% of points on his serve. In contrast, Tipsarevic justified his billing as top seed, saving the single break point against him and winning 90% of his points on first serve.

Tipsarevic made real inroads into his opponent's serve, and with victory in sight, the top seed won the final four games to close out victory in under an hour and a half.

The win sees the Serb overtake Robin Soderling and Juan Martin del Potro in the race to qualify for London. He now heads to St Petersburg looking to bag another 250 points to boost his chances.

Another man in the hunt for a place in London is Gael Monfils, who did his hopes of appearing no harm with victory in the Stockholm Open. Monfils needed three sets to see off Jarkko Nieminen 7-5 3-6 6-2 to clinch his first title of the year.
