Andy Murray has been seeded fourth for the Australian Open, with Novak Djokovic and Caroline Wozniacki named top seeds in Melbourne.

World No. 4 Murray, who has reached the final for the last two years, was seeded fifth for the 2010 and 2011 editions, but this year he is in the top four, meaning he will not meet rivals Djokovic, Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer until the semi-finals at the earliest.

Spain's David Ferrer is seeded fifth ahead of Qatar Open champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Tomas Berdych, who won the Hopman Cup alongside Petra Kvitova last week.

Denmark's Wozniacki leads the women's field ahead of Kvitova, although the Czech could enter the first grand slam of the year as the world No. 1 if she wins the title in Sydney this week.

Defending champion Kim Clijsters, who suffered a hip injury in Brisbane last week, is seeded 12th, while French Open champion Li Na, who became the first Chinese woman to reach a grand slam final in Melbourne last year, is seeded fifth behind No. 3 Victoria Azarenka and 2008 champion Maria Sharapova, while five-time champion Serena Williams is the 13th seed.
