Juan Monaco, the man who halted Andy Roddick's momentum just days after the American ousted Roger Federer from the Sony Ericsson Open, moved into the semi-finals thanks to a one-sided victory over Mardy Fish on Thursday.

Monaco is playing some outstanding tennis in Miami, crushing Roddick on Tuesday before repeating the feat with a 6-1 6-3 triumph over Fish 48 hours later. He will now meet Novak Djokovic who beat David Ferrer later in the day.

Fish had little answer to the craft of Monaco, who immediately found his timing on the American's serve. He broke at the first time of asking, and then penetrated Fish's serve again for 5-1, clinching the set in style.

Any thoughts of a fightback from Fish were doused early in the second as he lost his opening service game once again. And each time he tried to build any momentum Monaco simply changed up the rhythm and pace of the match with a string of beautifully crafted points.

The Argentinian wobbled at 3-2 in the second, allowing Fish his first break when a forehand sailed wide. However, a pumped up Monaco responded immediately to go ahead again 4-3, and he found a fifth break of the match to wrap things up.
