Tsonga in danger of missing Wimbledon

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is an injury doubt for Wimbledon after suffering a suspected broken finger en route to being knocked out of the AEGON Championships at The Queen's Club.

Tsonga, who recently reached the quarter-finals of the French Open, succumbed to a shock 6-7(3) 6-3 6-7(5) third-round defeat at the hands of Ivan Dodig as his preparations for Wimbledon suffered a blow.

However, it is the injury that the world No. 5 picked up during the match that is of greater concern to the Frenchman, with Tsonga damaging his little finger on his right hand after slipping in the sixth game of the third set.

"I think it's serious," Tsonga said. "I will have a scan, but it sounds very bad. I felt like I broke something or I strained it when I fell. It's only a finger but it's tough because I have to play with my hand.

"At the moment I don't know what is it, but I will stay positive and I will see."

Tsonga, who said his Queen's exit "will affect my confidence a bit", admitted his run at Roland Garros - which included losing to Novak Djokovic in five sets - led to him feeling sluggish as he switched to the grass.

He said: "When you're in a grand slam you give a lot of yourself, and sometimes after that you're a bit tired and it's hard to get back the motivation."
