Ferrer storms into UNICEF Open semis

David Ferrer highlighted his grass court credentials as he blazed into the semi-finals of the UNICEF Open in 's-Hertogenbosch with a 6-0 6-1 hammering of Dutch wildcard Igor Sijsling.
The world No. 6 won 11 straight games without reply before Sijsling avoided the double bagel in front of his home crowd, but Ferrer, a French Open semi-finalist, closed out the match in just 42 minutes.
"Sometimes you find good feelings and sometimes it works," Ferrer said. "Today I was very good throughout the match, attacking well with my first serve, and maybe he was a little bit nervous."
The top seed will meet Frenchman Benoit Paire in the last four after the Frenchman fired 15 aces in a 6-3 7-5 victory over Tatsuma Ito.
In the other half of the draw, German qualifier Philipp Petzschner saw off Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-4 7-6(6) to book a semi-final clash with Xavier Malisse, who defeated Gilles Muller 6-3 4-6 6-1.
