Garcia-Lopez serves up a Morocco masterclass

No. 2 seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez comfortably defeated Marcel Granollers 6-3 6-2 to progress into the quarter-finals of Grand Prix Hassan II.
Garcia-Lopez dominated the battle of the Spaniards by repeatedly producing ferocious first serves to which his opponent had no answer. He won 85% of the points on offer from his first delivery as Granollers was unable to cope with the pace and bounce generated.
Granollers lost his serve four times in the match, which was completed in a shade under 90 minutes. Garcia-Lopez will next face France's Florent Serra, who defeated his countryman Stephane Robert 2-6 6-1 6-3.
No.4 seed Lukasz Kubot of Poland claimed a 6-4 6-1 victory after Arnaud Clement's serve began to misfire. French veteran Clement had raced into a 3-1 lead in the first set, but he would go on to lose seven consecutive service games on his way to defeat.
Next up for Kubot is Italy's Potito Starace, who beat Oscar Hernandez 6-2 6-1.
Meanwhile at the Clay Court Championship in Houston, Argentine Juan Ignacio Chela proved too crafty for No. 7 seed and countryman Eduardo Schwank, winning 6-1 6-7 6-1 to progress to the third round.
Nicolas Massu won Wednesday's other match in an epic three-hour, 25 minute, come-from-behind victory featuring an astonishing 250 points. American qualifier Ryan Sweeting was the unfortunate man to walk off court empty-handed after the 6-7 7-6 6-4 result.
