Carla Suarez Navarro battled back from a set down to reach her first final for a year at the Andalucia Experience in Marbella.

The world No. 38 came out on top of the all-Spanish semi-final, beating Maria Jose Martinez-Sanchez 2-6 6-3 6-2 to reach the final in Marbella for the second consecutive year.

Last year she lost in three sets to world No. 4 Jelena Jankovic. This year she will meet the world No. 16, Flavia Pennetta, after the No. 2 seed beat her fellow Italian Sara Errani 6-1 6-1 to reach her second final of the year.

Meanwhile, at the MPS Group Championships at Ponte Vedra Beach in Florida, defending champion Caroline Wozniacki booked her place in the final for the second year running with a three-set victory over Elena Vesnina.

The top seed won just 18 points as she lost the first set, but recovered well to take the victory 1-6 7-6(4) 6-4 to record her fourth career victory over the fourth seed.

Wozniacki will meet Olga Govortsova in the final after the Belarusian upset third seed Dominika Cibulkova 6-4 7-5.
