Caroline Wozniacki survived a second-set fightback from Olga Govortsova to lift the MPS Group Championships title at Ponte Vedra Beach.

Wozniacki appeared to be coasting to victory after a dominant first set, but she fell two breaks behind in the second before launching a counter to triumph 6-2 7-5. Sunday's win sees the 19-year-old clinch her seventh WTA Tour title.

The top seed was magnificent in the opening set, taking advantage of five double faults from Govortsova to take a 5-2 lead. Govortsova, who knocked out the second and third seeds en route to the final, had one solitary break chance at 30-40 in the eighth game, but Wozniacki quickly slammed the door closed to take the first set.

At that point there was little sign of the drama that would unravel in the second stanza, as Govortsova raced into a 4-1 advantage. Wozniacki's second serve statistics were falling below 35 percent, but she managed to rally back to 5-5, restoring parity after a marathon game on the Govortsova serve.

That game appeared to break the Belarussian's resistance as Wozniacki quickly produced a third break, her sixth of the match, before wrapping the contest up in a shade under two hours.

Flavia Pennetta claimed the Andalucia Open title on Sunday, coming through a tough three-setter against Carla Suarez Navarro in Marbella.

Pennetta's shot-making proved to be the decisive factor in the match as she broke on seven occasions, only to undo most of her hard work by consistently failing with her serve. A first-serve success rate of 47 percent restricted the Italian, but she eventually clinched her ninth career title 6-2 4-6 6-3.

The first set belonged to Pennetta as she capitalised on both break opportunities created, whilst only allowing Suarez Navarro one opportunity on her own serve.

However, the No. 2 seed could not sustain her momentum in the second set, throwing up six break points for Suarez Navarro, who gleefully accepted two of them.

The contest went to a decider, where Pennetta was again broken twice, but she manufactured four chances of her own to edge the contest despite serving up six double faults. Victory represents her first career title of 2010.
