Andy Murray has shrugged off any fitness concerns, with the US Open champion confident ahead of the Paris Masters and ATP World Tour Finals.

Murray has had a stellar year, winning the Olympics and his maiden grand slam, but he has also suffered from niggling problems.

After tasting defeat to Novak Djokovic in the final of the Shanghai Masters, Murray pulled out of the Swiss Indoors on account of a back problem. He claims the break has had the desired effect and he is looking forward to a big two weeks.

"I had a full week rest after Shanghai, which I needed," Murray said. "I just started to build up my training gradually. We came here on Friday so I have had pretty decent preparation for the tournament, which is good.

"I picked up a bug on the way to Asia and still didn't get rid of it until a few days after I got back. It was important to rest.

"Now I feel better coming to Paris than I did last year."
