Ivan Lendl believes Andy Murray will be in contention at all four grand slams in 2013 after guiding the Scot to his first major at the US Open.

Lendl is preparing to spend his first off-season with the British No. 1 and believes "there is a lot to look forward to" after a successful first season with Murray.

The former world No. 1 will be looking to ensure Murray hits the ground running next season at the Australian Open, where he is a two-time finalist.

"All the other players will be targeting the Australian Open, wanting to make a bold start to the new year, so it is vital Andy has a healthy, fundamentally strong base to build on," Lendl told the Metro.

"I now have more of an understanding about what makes him tick and we can build successfully on that. There is a lot to look forward to next year."

While Lendl admits winning Wimbledon will be Murray's priority, he believes the Scot has what it takes to win the French Open.

"No one has won the French Open without having enjoyed a good clay-court season," he said. "But if he works on aspects of his game I want him to improve, then he can do it.

"I am way too old to worry about what people think but Wimbledon is very prestigious. Players always want to win their home grand slam but he can only prepare and give it his best."
