Andy Murray shrugged aside the loss of the second set to ease past Juan Ignacio Chela to book his place in the third round of the French Open.
The match was played over two days on account of the poor weather in Paris and Murray briefly looked in trouble, but he regrouped to seal a 6-2 6-7 6-3 6-2 win.
Chela finished well on Wednesday and carried the momentum from the previous evening with him and he totally dominated the second set tie-break to level the match.
After a rain delay, Chela came out strong and secured a break of serve in game five - with Murray contributing to his own downfall by missing first serves and sending a backhand over the baseline. Murray showed tremendous temperament by keeping the ball in play in the next game and he forced errors from the racket of Chela to break back.
The break seemed to spark Murray into life and he produced some of his best tennis of the match to break again and take the set.
Murray sensed that Chela was wilting and he mixed defence and attack at the start of the fourth set to fashion a break. The British No. 1 backed up his break with a strong hold and with a real spring in his step, worked Chela around the court.
At times it looked as if the Scot had the ball on a string as he moved his tiring rival from side to side with changes of pace and angle and a powerful forehand secured Murray a second break in the seventh game.
He wrapped up victory on his own serve in the following game and can now plan for a third-round clash with Marcos Baghdatis.
